Bucs ink WR Williams to 6-year contract
Tampa, FL (Sports Network) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed wide receiver Mike Williams to a six-year, $40.25 million contract.
“We are pleased to have Mike signed to a long-term contract that ensures he will continue to be part of the exciting young core of players we are building around,” Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik said in a statement Wednesday. “Mike has earned this contract through his hard work and production the past three seasons and we are looking forward to seeing him continue that career development as a Buccaneer.”
The 26-year-old Williams was selected by the Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Syracuse. He has yet to miss a game in his first three years in the league, registering 193 catches for 2,731 yards and 23 touchdowns over 48 contests.
Last season, Williams posted 63 receptions for a career-high 996 yards and a team-best nine receiving touchdowns.
