Bridgewater questionable to face Packers

Eden Prairie, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater returned to practice on Wednesday, though the rookie’s status for Thursday’s NFC North clash at Green Bay remains uncertain.

Bridgewater was a limited participant during Wednesday’s walkthrough after sitting out the previous two days to heal a sprained left ankle the 2014 first-round pick sustained during the fourth quarter of his first career NFL start, Sunday’s 41-28 home win over Atlanta.

The Vikings have listed Bridgewater as questionable on the final injury report. If the promising young signal-caller cannot go in Thursday’s game, deposed 2013 starter Christian Ponder would draw the start under center.

Bridgewater took over the No. 1 job following veteran Matt Cassel’s season- ending broken foot in Minnesota’s Week 2 loss to New England. The former Louisville standout threw for 317 yards on 19-of-30 passing against the Falcons while adding his first career rushing touchdown.

Two key Vikings will definitely not play in Thursday’s test at Lambeau Field. Tight end Kyle Rudolph underwent sports hernia surgery earlier this week and is sidelined indefinitely, while linebacker Chad Greenway is still recovering from a broken hand and a fractured rib that also kept him out of the Atlanta game.

Rookie running back Jerick McKinnon (ankle), who rushed for 135 yards on just 18 carries against the Falcons, is probable for Thursday’s tilt.

The Packers will be without wide receiver Jarrett Boykin for a second straight week due to a groin injury.
