Bosh still undergoing evaluation
New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Friday that forward Chris Bosh is still being evaluated after being hospitalized on Thursday.
Various media outlets, including the Miami Herald, have reported that Bosh is undergoing tests on his lungs, possibly for blood clots. If blood clots are detected, Bosh’s season could come to an end.
Spoelstra, in New York for Friday’s game against the Knicks, said a full diagnosis has not been determined.
“Our main thoughts are with CB and his health right now,” said Spoelstra on Friday. “He’s in good care and spirits. It’s too early for any speculation.”
Bosh did not feel well upon his return to the team Thursday after the All-Star break. He was in New York for the All-Star Game last weekend, then went to Haiti for a mini vacation with teammate Dwyane Wade and their wives.
“When we went on vacation, he just didn’t feel right and he went and got it checked out,” said Wade on Friday. “For me, it’s not about basketball. I just want the best for my friend.”
In 44 games this season, Bosh is averaging 21.1 points with 7.0 rebounds.
