Bombers extend Denmark
Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed wide receiver Clarence Denmark to a contract extension through the 2016 season.
Terms were not disclosed.
Denmark is Winnipeg’s leading receiver with 42 receptions and is second in the CFL with 646 yards. He also has one touchdown.
“Clarence is the prototypical professional. He shows up to work every day, works as hard as anybody on the football field and in the meetings rooms, leads by example both on and off the field, and is the definition of a team- first athlete,” said Blue Bombers general manager Kyle Walters. “Those are the types of players you build your football team around, and we are very pleased to have Clarence with us for the next few seasons.”
Denmark has 225 catches for 2,985 yards and 11 touchdowns in his four seasons with the Bombers.
“This organization has been so good to me since I first got into the CFL in 2011,” said Denmark. “The way the franchise is operating now, with the people from the top down, there is such a positive and professional atmosphere and vibe for us as players, and I am very glad to continue being a part of that.”
The Arkansas-Monticello product has started 62 of the 63 games he has played since joining the Bombers. He has seven career 100-yard games and has caught a pass in each of the last 26 games.
