Blues snag Bortuzzo from Penguins
St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – The St. Louis Blues acquired defenseman Robert Bortuzzo and a seventh-round draft pick in 2016 from the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenseman Ian Cole.
Bortuzzo, standing 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, picked up six points (2G, 4A) and 68 penalty minutes in 38 appearances for the Pens this season. He’s a veteran of 113 NHL contests over parts of four seasons in Pittsburgh who has collected 20 points and 171 PIMs.
Cole is a 6-foot-1, 219-pounder who has spent his entire 167-game, five-year career in St. Louis. The Notre Dame product and Michigan native has compiled nine goals and 22 assists in 167 games since cracking the Blues’ lineup in 2010.
