Blue Jays put Cabrera on DL

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – The Toronto Blue Jays have placed outfielder Melky Cabrera on the 15-day disabled list due to left knee tendinitis.

Cabrera is hitting .278 with three homers and 29 RBI in 78 games this season. He aggravated the injury during Thursday’s 7-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox.

The team also announced shortstop Munenori Kawasaki will be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo.
