Blue Jays place Morrow on DL
Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Toronto Blue Jays placed pitcher Brandon Morrow on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday due to a right index finger strain.
Morrow is 1-2 in six starts this season with a 5.93 ERA. The right-hander started Friday night’s 6-5 loss to the Pirates. He was tagged for three runs on 11 hits before exiting after five innings.
Toronto also recalled pitcher Chad Jenkins from Triple-A Buffalo. Jenkins appeared in one game for the Blue Jays earlier this season and gave up three runs, two of which were home runs, on five hits in 1 2/3 innings of work.
