Big Celebrities and Broadway Stars Lines up for F.M. Kirby’s Season
After the F.M. Kirby Center in Pennsylvania included huge names like Tony Bennett, Jerry Seinfeld, and Diana Ross in last year’s lineup, and seeing the huge success that came with those names, they’ve once again packed the lineup for their next season with some really big stars. And the public was made privy to which stars they could see after the Center announced their 2012 — 2013 season.
While the F.M. Kirby Center had made announcements for its 26th season prior to Thursday, it was yesterday that they announced the biggest names within this year’s cast and crew. Among the names were Liza Minnelli, who will be presenting her one-woman show Confessions in November; the Irish Tenors, who will be performing on March 8; and comedian Brian Regan, who will fill the house with hoots and hollers on November 10. Broadway stars will also be performing some of the biggest Broadway hits including “A Chorus Line” on January 11 and “Rock of Ages” which will be performed on February 15.
The Center has done a phenomenal job this year of making sure that they’re offering something for everyone. Those who are looking for rock can check out the “Zappa Plays Zappa” performance on June 28; those looking to take in a Christmas classic can catch the “Great Russian Nutcracker” on December 3, and literary buffs can take in “Hal Holbrook: Mark Twain Tonight,” on October 20. Of course, there are lots of shows included for the kids, too including “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs,” “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” and “Cinderella Kids & Fame Jr.”
But even with yesterday’s announcement, audiences can expect even more to come out of F.M. Kirby’s season, as they say, “we have a few other names that we’re still negotiating with.”
