Beasley to play in China after being waived by Grizzlies
Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) – The Memphis Grizzlies waived forward Michael Beasley on Thursday.
The Grizzlies signed Beasley to a non-guaranteed contract on Sept. 25.
The 25-year-old Beasley averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 55 games with the Heat last season.
Beasley owns career averages of 13.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 409 games (199 starts) with Miami, Minnesota and Phoenix. He was originally drafted by the Heat with the No. 2 overall pick in 2008.
Beasley’s playing career will continue in China. The 6-foot-9, 235-pounder has signed to play for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. The Sharks are owned by former Houston Rockets star Yao Ming.
