Bears place Houston on IR
Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Chicago Bears placed defensive end Lamarr Houston on injured reserve Monday.
Houston ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while celebrating a sack during Chicago’s blowout loss to New England in Week 8. It was his first sack of the season after signing a five-year, $35 million free- agent deal in March.
Chicago, which had a bye in Week 9, also promoted defensive end David Bass from the practice squad to the active roster and signed tackle Jason Weaver to the practice squad on Monday.
