Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament Recaps

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Jordan Price scored 28 points to help La Salle beat Massachusetts 76-69 in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament at the Barclays Center.

Price, who tied a school record for points in an Atlantic 10 Tournament game, made 14-of-18 free throws while adding six rebounds and two steals.

Cleon Roberts had 16 points and Steve Zack posted 12 points and 13 rebounds for the ninth-seeded Explorers (17-15), who will play No. 1 seed Davidson in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Cady Lalanne had 17 points and matched a career high with 16 rebounds for eighth-seeded UMass (17-15), which has dropped six of its last seven games. Donte Clark led the Minutemen with 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting.

La Salle built a 58-49 lead with 6:45 remaining, but UMass managed to trim it to 64-63 when Clark hit a 3-pointer from the left wing with 2:13 left. Khalid Lewis answered with a trey for La Salle, which was able to put the game away at the free-throw line.

UMass went up 18-9 on a Derrick Gordon layup, but La Salle managed to take a 31-30 lead into halftime behind 13 points from Price.

Final Score: VCU 63, Fordham 57

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Treveon Graham had 22 points with nine rebounds, Melvin Johnson scored 16 and VCU topped Fordham 63-57 in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

Johnson made a 3-pointer to cap an 8-0 run that gave fifth-seeded VCU a 58-52 lead with 2:31 remaining.

VCU (23-9) overcame shooting 30.5 percent to set up a quarterfinal meeting with fourth-seeded Richmond on Friday.

Jon Severe paced 12th-seeded Fordham (10-21) with 14 points. Manny Suarez chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds in defeat.
