Astros reinstate Martinez from DL

Houston, TX (Sports Network) – The Houston Astros activated outfielder J.D. Martinez from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday’s game against the Seattle Mariners.

Martinez has been sidelined since June 27 with a sprained left wrist. The 25- year-old was batting .256 with seven home runs and 36 RBI in 78 games prior to the injury.

The DL stint was Martinez’ second this season, having also missed around 2 1/2 weeks from late April into early May with a sprained right knee.
