A’s activate Gentry from 15-day DL
Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Oakland Athletics activated outfielder Craig Gentry from the 15-day disabled list on Friday and optioned relief pitcher Dan Otero to Triple-A Sacramento.
Gentry went on the DL on July 28 with a broken right hand that he suffered when he was hit by a pitch while squaring to bunt. He went 0-for-7 in a pair of rehab games.
Gentry, 30, is batting .264 with 18 steals and 10 RBI in 80 games this season.
Otero has accumulated a 2.28 ERA with a 1.07 WHIP and one save in 56 relief appearances in his second year with the A’s.
