Amy Winehouse’s Home Robbed Weeks after Her Death
Just when exactly Amy Winehouse’s home was robbed is still under speculation, but the fact is very true that several prized possessions of the late singer have gone missing from her Camden home in north London. Among the things stolen were letters of Amy’s, books containing her lyrics, and copies of her unreleased tracks. Members of Amy’s management team also noticed that one of Amy’s favorite guitars has also gone missing.
But it’s not like this is the job of some thief that broke in during the night. Only about 20 people have had access to the home in the weeks following Amy’s death including family and friends, police, and investigators. While there was talk of a posthumous album being released, the family still had not yet decided to do with the unpublished work, and it’s the fact that the decision has been made for, and stolen from, them that makes Mitch Winehouse, Amy’s dad most furious. And, he’s most certain that the missing items were in fact taken by one or some of those handfuls of people that have had access to the home in the last couple of weeks.
Mitch has been on holidays with his family for the past while, as they all try to deal with their grief, but Mitch says that he’s going to give the culprit a chance to do the right thing and return the items before police get involved and it “becomes messy.”
