Alouettes re-sign Townsend, Carter
Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) – The Montreal Alouettes have re-signed defensive backs Daryl Townsend and Michael Carter to three-year contracts.
Townsend was the club’s top special teams performer with 16 stops, despite missing five games for personal reasons. He has 41 special teams tackles in his first two seasons.
“Daryl has fast become one of the best special teams players in the league,” said Alouettes general manager and head coach Jim Popp. “He is a good person and works hard to make sure that he is prepared to help his team week in and week out. He is always ready to fill in where needed.”
Carter notched eight defensive tackles and seven stops on special teams in 17 games last season.
