Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Don't tell the Miami Heat the Philadelphia 76ers aren't playing to win.

The Sixers, despite having just eight healthy bodies, rallied from a 23-point deficit in Miami and stole a 91-87 decision away from the Heat to earn back- to-back victories for the first time this season.

Michael Carter-Williams scored 20 points, handed out five assists and recorded six steals for Philadelphia, which was coming off Sunday's win over Orlando and earned just its fourth win in 27 games.

"We have good momentum," Sixers rookie Nerlens Noel said. "We're confident."

Luc Mbah a Moute donated 19 points and K.J. McDaniels added 13 off the bench for the victors.

The Heat, perhaps looking ahead to a Christmas Day-showdown with LeBron James and the Cavaliers, took their foot off the gas pedal in the second half, as they shot just 27.8 percent from the field after the break.

Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 23 points, while Shawne Williams netted 17 in the loss, Miami's third in its last four games.

"It doesn't get worse than this," Wade said. "You have to find a way to win a game like this. It's on us."

The Sixers worked their way back from the huge deficit and used a 12-0 run in the middle stages of the fourth quarter to take their first lead since it was a 2-0 game.

Jerami Grant's three-point play broke an 82-82 tie with 5:55 remaining, and Robert Covington added two free throws to give Philadelphia a five-point lead.

Wade answered with consecutive jumpers, but the Heat missed six consecutive shots with the chance to tie or take the lead over the final two minutes.

Mario Chalmers and Luol Deng both missed 3-point tries with under 16 seconds to play, Noel grabbed a big defensive rebound, and Covington sealed the surprising win with two free throws with 7.0 ticks to go.

The Heat led by as many as 15 points in the first quarter, 18 in the second and held a seemingly comfortable 57-42 cushion at halftime.

Williams' personal 9-0 run early in the third quarter stretched Miami's lead to a game-high 23 points. Williams hit a 3-pointer, threw down a putback slam, made two free throws and added a layup that gave the Heat a 69-46 advantage.

"They had 20 points from that point on," Sixers head coach Brett Brown said. "We found something extra to steal a fantastic win on the road."

The Sixers recovered by forcing seven turnovers over the final eight minutes of the quarter. They ended the frame on a 15-5 surge, and Carter-Williams 3- pointer cut the deficit to 78-73.
