Viera, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Eric Young Jr.'s third-inning, two-run homer was all the Atlanta Braves needed in a 2-1 win over the Washington Nationals Monday afternoon.
Daniel Castro accounted for three of the eight Atlanta hits.
Wandy Rodriguez started for the Braves and allowed two hits over three innings, striking out a pair. Chein-Ming Wang followed with three more innings of two-hit ball, striking out one and walking one.
Washington starter Gio Gonzalez allowed just one hit and struck out one over two innings in his spring training debut.
Anthony Rendon and Tony Gwynn Jr. had two hits apiece for the Nationals, who had just seven hits in the game. Steven Lerud added an RBI double in the ninth.
