Rodriguez served as the designated hitter and was the only New York batter with multiple hits in the game.

Michael Pineda made his spring debut, starting on the mound and allowing one hit and striking out two in two innings.

Desmond Jennings had two hits for the Rays, who got three innings of two-hit, two-run ball from starter Nathan Karns.
