Recap: NY Mets vs. Washington
Port St. Lucie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Curtis Granderson and Michael Cuddyer had two of three New York Mets home runs in an 11-9 spring-training victory over the Washington Nationals.
Alex Castellanos added a two-run shot to Granderson and Cuddyer's solo blasts, while Juan Lagares recorded three of the Mets' 15 hits off Washington pitching. Cuddyer finished 2-for-3 and Brandon Allen contributed a two-run double for New York, which scored nine times in the eighth inning to erase a 4-2 deficit.
The Nationals put up five runs in the top of the ninth, highlighted by Clint Robinson's grand slam. Danny Espinosa had a solo homer earlier and Michael Taylor delivered a two-run double for Washington.
Reigning National League Rookie of the Year Jacob deGrom worked the first three innings for the Mets, striking out five but surrendering two runs on three hits.
