Cory Spangenberg added two RBI, Wil Myers and Brett Wallace each knocked in a run while Carlos Quentin doubled twice for the Padres.

Brandon Maurer picked up the win with a scoreless sixth inning in relief.

Drew Stubbs finished 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI for the Rockies. Nolan Arenado doubled among his two hits and knocked in the other run.

John Lannan was tagged in the loss for two runs on three hits over 1 2/3 frames.
