Cheslor Cuthbert added a pair of RBI for the Royals, with starter Joe Blanton allowing a run on four hits over his three-inning outing. Yohan Pino picked up the win despite allowing a run on two hits in the seventh.

Eugenio Suarez clubbed a solo homer and Joey Votto knocked in the other run for the Reds. Sam LeCure took the loss after giving up two runs in the eighth.
