Laramie, WY (SportsNetwork.com) - Larry Nance, Jr. scored on a dunk with three seconds remaining in the extra session to lift the Wyoming Cowboys to a 63-62 overtime victory over the New Mexico Lobos in a Mountain West Conference thriller at the Arena-Auditorium.

Nance finished with team-highs of 23 points and six rebounds to power Wyoming (17-3, 6-1 MW) to its second consecutive decision. Josh Adams added 20 points, while Riley Grabau chipped in nine points.

Hugh Greenwood paced the Lobos (13-7, 5-3) with 23 points.

The Cowboys took a 21-20 lead into the intermission after they assisted five of their six makes from the floor and converted all four of their free-throw attempts in the opening period. New Mexico trailed despite hitting on 8-of-17 shots from the field in the first half, during which it committed nine turnovers.

The Lobos knocked down all eight of their shots at the charity stripe and sank 4-of-8 tries from beyond the arc in the second stanza. Wyoming was limited to 39.1 percent efficiency from the floor, but sank 13-of-14 tries at the free- throw line in the second half. New Mexico led, 54-51, with 16 seconds remaining in regulation. Adams drew a foul from Greenwood on a 3-point attempt with nine seconds left and made all three free shots to even the score. Greenwood and Nance missed jumpers in the closing seconds of regulation.

The Lobos took a 62-57 lead with just over a minute remaining in the extra session. Adams made it a one-possession game with a successful 3-point field goal try before Nance scored the final three points of the contest to give the Cowboys the one-point triumph.

Despite the loss, the Lobos outrebounded Wyoming, 30-25, and finished with a 20-16 edge in points in the paint.
