Wis.-Milwaukee Panthers VS. Oral Roberts Golden Eagles

Recap: Milwaukee vs. Oral Roberts

Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Korey Billbury's three-point play with six seconds left snapped a tie game and lifted Oral Roberts to a 69-66 win over Milwaukee in a Middleweight bracket matchup of the MGM Grand Main Event tournament.

With the contest deadlocked at 64-64, Billbury hit a layup while being fouled by J.R. Lyle and sank the ensuing bonus attempt. Cody Wichmann then made a pair of free throws to bring Milwaukee back within one, but Denell Henderson knocked down two key foul shots with a second remaining before Wichmann's desperation attempt was off the mark.

Billbury finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Obi Emegano tallied 20 points to help Oral Roberts (2-3) halt a three-game losing streak.

Steve McWhorter poured in 21 points for Milwaukee (2-4), which battled back from a 15-point deficit midway through the second half to draw even on two Lyle free throws with 29 seconds to go.

Billbury poured in 14 first-half points to power the Golden Eagles to a 33-25 halftime lead, and Oral Roberts was up 50-35 after Henderson followed Billbury's successful jumper with a layup and free throw with 10:58 remaining.

Justin Jordan and McWhorter hit back-to-back 3-pointers, however, to ignite a 17-6 push that cut the margin to 56-52 with five minutes to play. McWhorter put up 12 of the Panthers' points during the surge.

Matt Tiby's trey with 1:10 left pulled Milwaukee within 64-62, and Lyle tied with two free throws shortly after Henderson missed two from the line for ORU.
