Kalamazoo, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Tucker Haymond shot 10-of-14 from the floor and led all scorers with 24 points, as Western Michigan notched a 91-75 win over the Drake Bulldogs in non-league play at University Arena.

Connar Tava was 7-of-9 from the field and finished with 20 points and a game- high seven assists for the Broncos (3-0). David Brown was next in line with 14 points, while Austin Richie and Kellen McCormick scored 11 apiece.

Reed Timmer scored a team-high 23 points for the Bulldogs (0-3). Chris Caird added 13 points, Ore Arogundade scored 11 off the bench, and Jordan Daniels finished with 10 points to round out the double-figure scorers.

Drake had the hot hand early on, as the Bulldogs knocked down 9-of-10 3- pointers in the first half and shot a blistering 70.8 percent from the floor. However, they led by only a 46-41 margin at the break as WMU also shot 62 percent and made 6-of-11 threes.

The Broncos kept the pressure on with another 61-percent shooting effort in the second stanza, while Drake cooled off and made only 8-of-20 attempts (.400) from the floor over the final 20 minutes.

WMU committed only eight turnovers for the game and forced 20, which yielded a key 19-1 advantage in points off turnovers during the second half. The Bulldogs were once again without the services of Karl Madison and Gary Ricks Jr., both of whom were serving the last of a three-game suspension.
