Bowling Green, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Nick Smith drained a 3-pointer with 14 seconds remaining to give the Belmont Bruins a 64-63 comeback victory over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in a non-conference tilt at E. A. Diddle Arena.

Evan Bradds led all scorers with 24 points for the Bruins (3-1), while Craig Bradshaw finished with 15 points.

The Hilltoppers (1-2) were paced by Chris Harrison-Docks with 21 points. T.J. Price logged 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

The Hilltoppers took a 51-40 lead into intermission after shooting 53.3 percent from the field in the first half, including 5-of-13 from 3-point range. The Bruins struggled with their shooting in the opening stanza, hitting on just 32.3 percent of their field goal attempts in the half and 3-of-16 from beyond the arc. With the score tied 19-19 with nine minutes to play in the opening stanza, WKU went on a 13-2 run to take the lead and control in the half.

After the break, the Bruins improved to 42.9 percent shooting from the floor, making 6-of-17 from beyond the arc. The Hilltoppers fell to just 38.5 percent shooting from the field in the second half, making 2-of-3 from deep. Trailing 56-42 points with under seven minutes to play, the Bruins mounted a furious comeback, capped off by Smith's eventual game-winner, his second 3- pointer in the final 91 seconds. WKU had one last chance, but Price's 17-footer in the final seconds was off the mark.

The Hilltoppers had the edge on the boards, outrebounding the Bruins, 40-32. WKU hurt themselves at the charity stripe, shooting just 4-of-12.
