Pullman, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Josh Hawkinson racked up 26 points and 15 rebounds in leading the Washington State Cougars to an 80-68 triumph over the Idaho State Bengals in non-conference action at Beasley Coliseum.

DaVonte Lacy netted 25 points and Que Johnson contributed 12 off the bench for Washington State (1-2).

Chris Hansen finished with 28 points and Jeffrey Solarin chipped in 10 for Idaho State (0-3).

Washington State led by just a point (32-21) at halftime. The Cougars had six more field goal attempts than the Bengals, but they made only 30.6 percent of those tries, including a miserable 3-of-17 effort from 3-point range.

In the second half, the Cougars found their stroke, heating up to 51.7 percent from the floor, including a 6-of-16 showing from beyond the arc, to secure the win.

Idaho State shot at a solid 48.2 percent clip in the contest, but it was outscored, 18-4, off of turnovers.
