Recap: Washington vs. Long Beach State

Fullerton, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Nigel Williams-Goss registered a double- double with 21 points and 12 assists, as the Washington Huskies dismissed the Long Beach State 49ers, 80-70, in the semifinals of the Wooden Legacy at Titan Gym.

Mike Anderson poured in 16 points for Washington (5-0), which will play Texas- El Paso in Sunday's championship game. Robert Upshaw tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and five blocks and Andrew Andrews had 10 points.

For LBSU (3-4), which will play Xavier in the third-place game on Sunday, Mike Caffey led the way with 18 points and six assists, while Deontae North and Temidayo Yussuf chipped in 16 points apiece.

Although Washington outshot LBSU from the field in the first half, 53.6 percent to 44.8 percent, it was the 49ers who took a 39-38 lead at the break after outscoring the Huskies from the foul line in the opening 20 minutes, 8-2.

The 49ers' lead swelled to as many as nine early in the second half but the Huskies stormed back to tie the game with under 10 minutes to play. The teams exchanged a few leads over the next few minutes until Washington closed the game out on an 18-5 run to capture the 10-point win.

Washington shot 11-of-26 from 3-point range and committed only eight turnovers on the night.
