GAME NOTES: In the quarterfinal round of the 2015 College Basketball Invitational, the Radford Highlanders will travel to New England for a matchup with the Vermont Catamounts on Monday night at Patrick Gymnasium.

Radford reached the quarterfinal round of the CBI for the second season in a row after it knocked off Delaware State, 78-57, last Wednesday night. The Highlanders now sit at 22-11 overall this season.

The Catamounts will host a postseason game for the first time ever in their programs' history on Monday night. They advanced to the quarterfinal round after defeating Hofstra, 85-81, on Wednesday night, bumping Vermont's overall record this season to 19-13.

This marks the first ever meeting between these teams on the hardwood.

The Highlanders converted 50 percent of their first-half field-goal attempts against Delaware State on Wednesday, and limited the Hornets to a shooting percentage of just .333. Radford outscored Delaware State 42-29 in the paint, 16-7 on fast break points and 37-23 on bench points. Cameron Jones led Radford with 18 points while Javonte Green came close to a double-double with 17 points, nine boards and four steals.

Green is the leading scorer for Radford with 15.2 rpg, and is also the team's top rebounder with 8.8 rpg. R.J. Price is the Highlanders' second best scorer with 12.4 ppg. Radford scores an average of 72.9 ppg and allows opponents to net 67.4 ppg, which gives the Highlanders a scoring margin of +5.5. Radford converts 46 percent of its field-goal attempts and limits opponents to a 42.6 shooting percentage. The Highlanders shoot just 33.9 percent from 3-point range, but hold teams to a 33.4 shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Radford has a rebounding margin of +3.1.

Vermont connected on 55.8 percent of its field-goal tries against Hofstra on Wednesday, and limited the Pride to a 40.9 shooting percentage, which included just 8-of-33 from beyond the arc. The Catamounts out-rebounded Hofstra 38-33 and outscored them 42-36 on points in the paint. Ethan O'Day led Vermont with 17 points, while Trae Bell-Haynes and Zach McRoberts each tallied 13 points.

O'Day is the top scorer for the Catamounts with 12.2 ppg and is the only player on Vermont to average double figures. The Catamounts score 66.8 ppg and allow teams to tally 58.4 ppg, which gives Vermont a scoring margin +8.4. The Catamounts convert an impressive 47 percent of their field-goal tries and allow opponents to connect on just 38.4 percent of their field-goal attempts. The Catamounts convert 36.1 percent of their 3-point field-goal attempts and hold teams to a 31.1 shooting percentage from 3-point distance. Vermont is in the black in the rebounding margin (+1.6).

Both Vermont and Radford shoot very well from the field which sets up a solid quarterfinal matchup between these programs. Although the Catamounts have defended well overall this season, they've allowed opponents to score 80 ppg in their last two contests. Radford's rebounding, along with Vermont's suspect defensive play the past two games, should give the Highlanders the advantage.
