Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Luke Kornet scored a game-high 24 points, shooting an incredible 10-of-11 from the floor, as the Vanderbilt Commodores captured a 78-46 win over the Tennessee State Tigers in a preliminary round of the Barclays Center Classic at Memorial Gym.

Kornet, who also grabbed seven rebounds, made good on 3-of-4 shots behind the 3-point line for the Commodores (3-0) as they remained perfect on the young season. Also scoring in double figures for the hosts were Riley LaChance and Damian Jones with 13 points apiece, while Wade Baldwin tallied eight points and a game-high 10 assists.

The Tigers (2-2) failed to have a single player score in double figures as Charles Tucker came the closest with nine points, thanks to 5-of-6 shooting at the free-throw line. No one on TSU made more than three field goals in the contest.

The Tigers shot only 34.5 percent from the floor in the first half, missed all six chances behind the 3-point line and came up empty on a pair of free-throw attempts, en route to a 38-20 deficit at the break.

After making good on 54.5 percent from the field in the first half, Vandy took it up a notch to a sizzling 66.7 percent in order to cruise to the 32-point victory.

The Commodores managed to overcome 17 turnovers by registering a 40-23 advantage on the glass.
