USC Trojans VS. Cal. St.-Fullerton Titans

Recap: USC vs. Cal State Fullerton

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Nikola Jovanovic and Darion Clark both tallied double-doubles, as the USC Trojans held off the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 53-49, in a non-conference clash at the Galen Center.

Jovanovic had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Clark tallied 10 points and 14 boards for USC (3-3). The duo also combined to block seven shots.

For Fullerton (1-3), Lanerryl Johnson poured in a game-high 21 points while shooting 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Moses Morgan chipped in with 10 points but did so on just 4-of-16 from the field.

The first half played out in USC's favor, as it took a 24-19 lead into intermission. The Trojans shot just 36.7 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, but Fullerton was even worse at 30.8 percent.

The Trojans held a lead as large as 14 midway through the second half, but the Titans came storming back to make it just a one-point game, 50-49, with two minutes left on a Johnson 3-pointer. Those were Fullerton's final points of the game, however, and it missed three field goal attempts in the final 27 seconds as USC held on.

USC escaped with a win despite a poor shooting night from both 3-point range (3-of-14) and the foul line (4-of-14). The Trojans did manage to hold a convincing 32-18 scoring advantage in the paint.
