Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Kendall Williams poured in a game-high 29 points in leading the New Mexico Lobos to a 68-56 victory over the UNLV Runnin' Rebels in Mountain West Conference play at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Cameron Bairstow added 18 points for New Mexico (20-5, 11-2 MWC), which has won eight of its last nine.

Khem Birch (11 points, 12 rebounds) and Roscoe Smith (10 points, 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles for UNLV (17-9, 8-5), which had won six of its previous seven. Bryce Dejean-Jones tacked on 10 points in the loss.

New Mexico started hot, shooting 59.3 percent from the floor, including a 5- of-9 performance from 3-point range, in the first half. UNLV failed to keep up, entering the break trailing, 38-29, by shooting 32.3 percent in the period.

Despite cooling to 34.4 percent shooting after intermission, the Lobos were able to hang on for the victory, as the Runnin' Rebels had only nine field goals in the final 20 minutes.

New Mexico won the battle of the boards (44-39) and outscored UNLV from beyond the arc, 18-9.
