Recap: Massachusetts vs. St Bonaventure

Amherst, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Marcus Posley scored 16 points as his St. Bonaventure Bonnies knocked off the Massachusetts Minutemen, 69-55, in Atlantic 10 Conference play at the Mullins Center.

Youssou Ndoye finished with a double-double for the Bonnies (8-4,1-0 A-10), as he collected 14 points and 13 rebounds. Jaylen Adams also scored 14 points for St. Bonaventure, while Andell Cumberbatch netted 12 points.

Trey Davis and Cady Lalanne each had 12 points for UMass (7-7,0-1) in the loss. Lalanne also led the Minutemen in rebounding with eight boards.

The Bonnies held UMass to a 36.4 shooting percentage in the opening period, and took a 28-19 lead into halftime. St. Bonaventure connected on 41.4 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half.

St. Bonaventure improved its shooting in the second half as it converted 50 percent of its tries from the field, all while holding the Minutemen to a 34.4 shooting percentage in the final 20 minutes. The Bonnies also made 19-of-26 free-throw attempts in the closing period.

UMass went just 4-of-22 from 3-point range in the loss, and the Minutemen were outrebounded by St.Bonaventure, 37-30. The Bonnies also forced 15 UMass turnovers, which they converted into 25 points.
