Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Norman Powell scored a game-high 24 points as all five starters finished in double figures for the UCLA Bruins in a 77-63 win over the Long Beach State 49ers in a non-conference battle at Pauley Pavilion.

Bryce Alford responded with 17 points and seven assists for the Bruins (4-0), although he also shot just 1-of-7 behind the 3-point line and 4-of-15 from the floor overall for the hosts. Isaac Hamilton posted 12 points, followed by Tony Parker and Kevin Looney with 10 apiece, the latter also pulling down a game- high 11 rebounds in the triumph.

The 49ers (2-3) were paced by Mike Caffey with his 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor, while David Samuels chipped in with 11 points and nine boards.

LBSU led by as many as six points in the first half, but the team ended up shooting only 8-of-21 from the field through the first 20 minutes of action, allowing UCLA to take a 42-31 advantage at the break.

In the second half both teams made only 12 field goals, and while the Bruins managed to convert just 9-of-18 at the free-throw line in the period, they were still able to pull away for the double-digit win.

UCLA, which suffered just five turnovers, forced 19 Long Beach State miscues and traded those in for 25 points on the night.
