Anchorage, AK (SportsNetwork.com) - Alan Williams registered a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds as the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos crushed the Washington State Cougars, 71-43, as part of the Great Alaska Shootout at Alaska Airlines Center.

Zalmico Harmon led all scorers with 17 points, shooting 3-of-4 from behind the 3-point line for the Gauchos (2-2), followed by John Green who tacked on 11 points in a mere 12 minutes off the bench.

The Cougars (1-3) had only one player score in double figures, with Brett Boese responsible for 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field off the bench. Josh Hawkinson pulled down a game-high 13 rebound for a squad that saw the starting five combine to shoot only 5-of-31 from the field on the night.

Washington State had just 10 points with less than five minutes remaining before intermission. The team missed all 14 chances behind the 3-point line in the period and trailed by a massive 34-12 margin in one of the weakest scoring efforts ever seen in the tournament.

The Cougars were a mere 3-of-33 from the floor through the first 20 minutes of action.

In the second half WSU jumped to 10-of-24 from the floor (.417), but at the same time the Gauchos also had better accuracy from the field (.600), as they cruised to the victory.

The semifinals are now set for Friday with UCSB going up against Mercer and the Cougars taking on Rice.
