Anchorage, AK (SportsNetwork.com) - Alan Williams tallied 22 points, a career- high 20 rebounds and six blocks, as the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos held off the Mercer Bears in overtime, 65-60, in the semifinals of the Great Alaskan Shootout at Alaska Airlines Arena.

Williams shot 8-of-18 from the field and 6-of-7 at the foul line for UCSB (3-2), which will play Colorado State in Saturday's championship game. Michael Bryson scored 17 points and DaJuan Smith chipped in 11 points and four assists.

For Mercer (3-3), which will take on Pacific in the third-place game, Phillip Leonard logged 17 points, six rebounds and five assists. Ike Nwamu and T.J. Hallice netted 16 points apiece and Darious Moten had 11 points.

UCSB held a 25-20 lead after 20 minutes of play by outshooting Mercer from the field in the first half, 40 percent to 29.6 percent.

The Bears pieced together a furious 23-8 run in the second half to hold a five-point lead, 45-40, with under six minutes to play. Mercer led by three with 16 seconds left following a pair of Nwamu free throws, but on the final possession of regulation, the Gauchos tied the game on a Bryson 3-pointer just prior to the buzzer sounding.

UCSB never trailed in the extra session. It made 7-of-10 free throws in overtime period to help seal the victory.

The Gauchos held a convincing 45-31 advantage in the rebounding battle.
