Irvine, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Young scored 13 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out five assists as the UC Irvine Anteaters coasted past the Pacific Tigers, 68-50, in a non-conference clash at Bren Events Center.

Will Davis II notched 12 points and John Ryan came off the bench to score 10 points with six boards for UC Irvine (2-0).

T.J. Wallace scored 19 points with four rebounds and Dulani Robinson chipped in with 14 points in the loss for Pacific (1-1).

UC Irvine took a 33-22 lead into the half after shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in the frame. Pacific connected on 40 percent of its shot tries in the half, and made just 3-of-10 from 3-point distance.

The Anteaters' defense stepped up in the second period, holding the Tigers to 29.6 percent shooting. UC Irvine buried 43.5 percent of its field goals in the second and 13-of-15 from the free-throw line to down Pacific.

The Anteaters held a distinct advantage in points in the paint, 28-8, and held an edge in second-chance points, 15-9.
