Davis, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Josh Ritchart netted 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the UC Davis Aggies easily handled the San Jose State Spartans, 70-56, in non-conference action at The Pavilion.

Corey Hawkins chipped in with 20 points for UC Davis (6-0), while Avery Johnson grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists.

Rashad Muhammad contributed 20 points in the losing effort for San Jose State (1-7). Jordan Baker netted seven points with a team-high six rebounds.

UC Davis shot a healthy 41.7 percent from the floor in the first half, which allowed the home team to take a 31-21 lead into the intermission. San Jose State shot just 30.8 percent in the frame, and went 2-of-10 from 3-point range.

The Aggies improved to 56 percent shooting in the second half, and netted 5- of-12 from distance. The Spartans also connected on 50 percent of their shots, but couldn't cut into UC Davis's lead at all.

The Aggies outscored the Spartans from 3-point range, 33-15, and held a 36-29 advantage on the boards in the win.
