Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Nick Norton finished with 26 points and five assists as the UAB Blazers outlasted the Charlotte 49ers for an 81-76 overtime victory in an Conference USA battle at Bartow Arena.

Robert Brown added 14 points and five assists for the Blazers (9-10, 5-1 C- USA), who picked up their second-straight decision. Hakeem Baxter and William Lee netted 11 points apiece, while Tosin Mehinti pulled down nine rebounds.

Keyshawn Woods led Charlotte (8-10, 2-4) with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. Terrence Williams supplied 17 points, while Torin Dorn contributed 16 points and five rebounds. Willie Clayton scored 10 points despite missing all five of his free-throw attempts.

The 49ers took a 33-29 lead into the intermission after they knocked down 56 percent of their field goal tries in the opening period. UAB was limited to a 3-of-10 clip from 3-point range in the first half.

The Blazers converted 60.9 percent of their field goal attempts, including a 6-of-11 clip from beyond the arc in the second stanza. Norton sank a 3-point try with 1:27 left in regulation to even the score at 65. Norton and Clayton both missed potential game-winning jumpers in the final 34 seconds of the second half.

UAB made good on 12-of-13 free-throw attempts in the extra session to pull away. Norton sank three shots at the charity stripe after drawing a foul on a 3-point try to give the Blazers a lasting lead with 2:24 left in the contest.

UAB finished with a 33-26 advantage in total rebounds and outscored the 49ers, 20-8, at the charity stripe.
