Tulsa, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - James Woodard scored game-high 21 points as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane captured a 66-58 win over the Connecticut Huskies in American Athletic Conference action at the Reynolds Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Golden Hurricane (11-5, 4-0 AAC) were Rashad Smith and Shaquille Harrison with 12 points apiece as the team's win streak stretched to six in a row.

The Huskies (9-6, 2-2), who had a three-game win streak snapped, were led by Daniel Hamilton who registered a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, followed by Terrence Samuel and Amida Brimah with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Just over nine minutes into the first half Tulsa led by nine points and the team was able to cling to a 30-24 advantage at the break despite shooting only 1-of-7 behind the 3-point line and 9-of-18 at the free-throw line in the period.

After converting 34.6 percent from the field through the first 20 minutes, the Huskies jumped to 52.0 percent accuracy, but still it wasn't enough to take over Tulsa down the stretch.

In addition to being outscored 18-8 at the charity stripe, UConn also hurt itself by turning the ball over 15 times on the night.
