Lubbock, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Devaughtah Williams led the way with 18 points as the Texas Tech Red Raiders downed the Missouri State Bears, 80-68, in a non-conference battle at United Supermarkets Arena.

For the Red Raiders (2-1), Norense Odiase added 13 points and Robert Turner finished with 12 points.

Marcus Marshall led all scorers with 27 points for the Bears (2-1), while Austin Ruder chipped in with 19 points.

The Red Raiders took a 42-38 advantage into intermission, connecting on 52 percent of their field goal tries, including 4-of-10 from 3-point distance. The Bears shot 50 percent from the field and an impressive 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. The Red Raiders led by nine late in the half, but the Bears finished on a 6-1 run to keep within striking distance of the home team.

Both squads cooled off considerably after halftime. Tech shot 38.5 percent from the floor, including 2-of-8 from 3-point range. MSU made just 37 percent of its shots from the floor and 3-of-9 from deep. With the score tied at 44-44 early in the second half, the Red Raiders went on a 7-0 run to take the lead for good, as they pulled away late to secure the victory.

Tech dominated down low, outrebounding MSU, 40-22, and outscoring them in the paint, 28-10. The Bears did their damage from the outside, outscoring the Red Raiders, 33-18, from beyond the arc.
