Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Jay Knuth netted 15 points, making 13- of-14 from the free-throw line to lead his Loyola Chicago Ramblers past the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 62-44, in the first round of the Las Vegas Classic at Orleans Arena.

Knuth added six rebounds in the win for Loyola (9-2), which won for the fifth consecutive contest. Ben Richardson tallied nine points in the victory. The Ramblers will play in the title game Tuesday against Boise State.

Justin Gray contributed 17 points with five rebounds for Texas Tech (9-2), which ended an eight-game win streak with the defeat. Robert Turner added in 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor in the defeat. The Red Raiders will play Houston in the consolation game Tuesday.

Loyola took a 28-19 lead into the intermission after connecting on 37 percent of its shots in the frame. Texas Tech shot a dismal 31.8 percent from the floor, including 0-of-8 from 3-point range.

The Ramblers picked it up a bit in the second half, netting 38.9 percent from the field, adding in 19-of-26 from the free-throw line. They kept the Red Raiders away by holding them to 35.7 percent shooting, including 0-of-13 from beyond the arc.

Loyola held a 39-29 advantage in rebounding over Texas Tech in the victory. Texas Tech missed all of its 21 3-point attempts in the contest.
