TCU Horned Frogs VS. Bradley Braves

Bradley (2-2) vs. TCU (5-0)

GAME NOTES: The TCU Horned Frogs try to remain unbeaten when they battle the Bradley Braves on Friday evening in the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic at the American Bank Center.

The winner of Friday?s game will face the victor of Mississippi State/Saint Louis tussle in Saturday?s championship game, while the losers will meet in the consolation contest.

TCU has won each of its games by at least 15 points and is coming off a 74-50 rout of Radford on Wednesday. All five of TCU's games thus far have been at home.

Bradley, which will play outside of Carver Arena for the first time this season, will be trying to win its third straight contest. The Braves scored a 52-38 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday.

This will mark the ninth all-time meeting between the Braves and Horned Frogs. Bradley holds a 5-3 edge, but TCU has captured the last two matchups, most recently a 74-68 victory in the championship game of the 2010 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off.

Kyan Anderson tallied 23 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor for TCU on Wednesday. Sophomore Hudson Price, the son of former NBA legend Mark Price, had a career-best 14 points. Anderson (15.4 ppg) leads the team in scoring, while Karviar Shepherd (8.6 ppg, 8.4 rpg) paces the squad in rebounding. TCU is 5-0 for the first time since 1997-98, the season the Horned Frogs began 9-0. It was also the last time TCU made the NCAA Tournament.

Ka'Darryl Bell led the Braves with 12 points in their win on Tuesday. Jermaine Morgan chipped in 10 points for Bradley, which enters Friday's tilt on a 10- game losing streak in neutral-site affairs. Bradley has been carried on offense by Omari Grier's 14.8 points per game. Backup Warren Jones is averaging 12.5 points per contest and 4.8 boards a game. Bell (7.3 ppg), the starting point guard, is handing out 5.3 assists per outing. The defense has been playing progressively better for the Braves, who opened the season by allowing 86 points to UT Arlington. The opponent scoring has gone down each time over the last three contests, but the Braves will be tested on Friday night. That's because TCU enters the game averaging 83.6 points and a .466 shooting percentage from 3-point territory. Bradley is averaging only 61.5 points per outing.

Getting out to a quick start could prove crucial for the Horned Frogs. They have outscored their first five opponents by a combined 48-15 in the first four minutes of game time. In that time, opponents have shot a combined 5- for-23 from the field with eight turnovers. Another quick start and strong play from Anderson should push the Horned Frogs over the top in this contest.
