Stanford, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chasson Randle scored a team-high 23 points to lead his Stanford Cardinal past the South Dakota Coyotes, 84-73, in the non-conference Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Maples Pavilion.

Stefan Nastic and Anthony Brown each recorded double-doubles for Stanford (2-0). Nastic scored 14 points with 11 rebounds, and Brown chipped in with 11 points and 10 boards. Rosco Allen scored 17 points in 27 minutes of action in the win.

Brandon Bos netted 19 points with seven rebounds to pace South Dakota (0-2), while Tyler Larson contributed 11 points with five assists in the defeat.

Stanford jumped out to a 40-26 lead by the time the first half concluded thanks to 44 percent shooting and a 16-of-20 clip from the free-throw line. South Dakota made just 31 percent of its shot tries in the half.

The Cardinal dipped down to 38.5 percent shooting in the second frame, but still connected on 22-of-26 from the charity stripe. The Coyotes hit on 46.9 percent of their field goal attempts in the second, but could only shave three points off the Stanford lead.

The Cardinal had a 38-18 advantage at the foul line, making 13 more free throws than the Coyotes attempted (25). Stanford also held a 42-29 edge in rebounding.
