Moraga, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Bright scored 21 points and Brad Waldow added 16 with 12 rebounds, leading St. Mary's to an 83-71 victory over New Mexico State early Tuesday morning.

The tip came just after midnight, local time, as part of ESPN's college basketball marathon and the Gaels (2-0) received a balanced offensive output while shooting 54.2 percent.

Garrett Jackson chipped in 16 points and six rebounds off the St. Mary's bench, while Kerry Carter had a solid all-around game with 12 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

Daniel Mullings led New Mexico State with 18 points and Remi Barry chipped in 17. The Aggies (0-2), coming off a season-opening loss to 11th-ranked Wichita State, shot just 36 percent on Tuesday.

The Gaels used a 9-0 run late in the first half to build a 45-31 cushion at the break and led by as many as 21 in the second half. The Aggies chipped away and got as close as eight in the final minutes.
