For the Saints (1-2), Lavon Long posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, Javion Ogunyemi scored 13 points, Rob Poole finished with 12 and Ryan Oliver chipped in with 11 points.

Andell Cumberbatch led all scorers with 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Bonnies (1-1), while Marcus Posley scored 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

With the scored tied at 18-18 with just over eight minutes remaining the in the half, the Saints went on a 15-2 run and led at intermission, 38-28. Siena made 46.9 percent of its field goal attempts in the period, including 4-of-13 from 3-point range. St. Bonaventure struggled from the field, making just 32.1 of its field goal tries and 3-of-9 from beyond the arc.

After the break the Saints cooled off, shooting just 31.0 percent from the field, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. The Bonnies hit on 44.1 percent of their field goal tries in the second, including 5-of-14 from beyond the arc. After building a 17-point lead, the Saints withstood a last-minute rally by the Bonnies to hold on for the win.

The Saints capitalized on the Bonnies miscues, converting 16 turnovers into 20 points while committing just five turnovers of their own. The Bonnies did dominate on the boards, outrebounding the Saints, 52-32.
