St. Bonaventure, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Marcus Posley scored 20 points as the St. Bonaventure Bonnies defeated the Canisius Golden Griffins, 59-53, at the Reilly Center.

Dion Wright came close to a double-double for the Bonnies (2-1), finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds. Youssou Ndoye played well in the front court, collecting eight points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Jaylen Adams contributed to the scoring effort with 11 points.

The Golden Griffins (2-1) got a good effort out of Jeremiah Williams, who scored 14 points off the bench in Canisius' first loss this season. Reserve Adam Weir had nine points and Phil Valenti cleared a team-best 11 rebounds.

Canisius held a slim 30-28 lead going into halftime. Both teams were shooting poorly from the field in the first twenty minutes, as the Griffins made just 10-of-35 from the floor and St. Bonaventure only converted on eight of their 29 field goal attempts. Canisius did much better from beyond the arch, as it made 44 percent of its 3-point shots in the first half.

The Bonnies shot the ball much better in the second half, scoring on 52.6 percent of their field goal attempts. Canisius made only 3-of-7 free throw attempts in the final twenty minutes.

St. Bonaventure's starters did a great job moving the ball to create points, as they combined for 15 total assists. The Bonnies also won the rebounding battle, 29-23.
