Kent, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Sears finished with a double-double, scoring 17 points and collecting 11 rebounds, as the Yale Bulldogs defeated the Southern Illinois Salukis, 53-46, in a Men Against Breast Cancer Classic game at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.

The Bulldogs' (3-1) Jack Montague shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arch and finished with 12 points while the other three starters for the squad combined to shoot a mere 2-of-17 from the floor.

Sean O'Brien scored a game-high 19 points and pulled in six rebounds for Southern Illinois (1-3) in the loss.

Leading by as many as 11 in the first twenty minutes, the Bulldogs entered halftime with a 27-23 lead over the Salukis. Southern Illinois was shooting a respectable 43.5 percent from the field in the first half, but Yale outrebounded the Salukis, 20-12 in the frame.

SIU didn't shoot as well in the second half, converting just nine of 30 field goal attempts. The Bulldogs also had seven more free throw attempts than Southern Illinois in the final twenty minutes.

Both teams' 3-point shooting was very unmemorable, as Yale made only five of their 21 attempts, and SIU connected on just 2-of-11 on the perimeter.
