Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Nic Moore netted 23 points and dished out five assists as the SMU Mustangs coasted past the Monmouth Hawks, 63-51, in a non-conference battle at Moody Coliseum.

Moore connected on 9-of-15 shooting, and made 3-of-6 from 3-point range for SMU (4-3). Cannen Cunningham contributed 10 points and five rebounds in his team's win.

Deon Jones was the only player to register a double-digit point total for Monmouth (2-4), scoring 13 points with a team-best eight rebounds in the loss.

SMU came out hot in the first half, netting 48.1 percent of its field goal tries to take a 32-21 lead into the intermission. Monmouth connected on just 33.3 percent of its shot attempts in the frame.

The Mustangs dipped a bit in the second period, hitting 41.7 percent of their shots from the floor, but made 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. The Hawks increased their accuracy to 45.8 percent shooting in the latter half, but didn't make a dent in the SMU advantage as the home squad led by as many as 19 points midway through the second.

SMU held a 28-18 edge over Monmouth in scoring in the paint, and owned a 13-4 advantage in fast-break scoring.
