Recap: Siena vs. Quinnipiac
Albany, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Marquis Wright led five players in double figures with his 17 points as the Siena Saints topped the Bobcats of Quinnipiac, 88-67, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Times Union Center.
Also putting up solid numbers on offense for the Saints (3-3, 1-0 MAC) were Rob Poole and Willem Brandwijk with 12 points apiece, while Javion Ogunyemi and Lavon Long added 11 points each.
The Bobcats (3-3, 0-1), were paced by Zaid Hearst with 15 points and six rebounds, followed by Kasim Chandler with 14 points and six assists in the losing cause. Ousmane Drame who was averaging a double-double for the program with 17.0 points and 11.0 rebounds heading into the contest, finished with just eight points and seven boards before fouling out.
Despite shooting only 39.3 percent from the field in the first half, compared to an even 50 percent for Siena, the Bobcats managed to stay within striking distance at the break, trailing by just two points at 40-38.
However, the second half was a much different story for the visitors as they converted a total of only seven field goals, en route to the 21-point defeat.
Siena, which shot only 17-of-30 at the free-throw line, hit on 54.2 percent from the floor for the game and turned the ball over just eight times.
