Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Mobley scored 19 points to go with nine rebounds as the Seton Hall Pirates earned a 63-47 win over the Mercer Bears in non-conference action at the Prudential Center.

Sterling Gibbs tallied 17 points, five assists and five rebounds and Angel Delgado contributed 12 rebounds and eight points for Seton Hall (1-0).

Ike Nwamu scored 20 points to pace Mercer (1-1).

At halftime, Seton Hall had a 35-24 lead. The Pirates shot 42.4 percent from the floor in the first half, while the Bears struggled at 36.7 percent.

Both teams had trouble in the second half, with Seton Hall shooting just 36 percent, but that was enough, as Mercer turned in a 37.5 percent effort.

Mercer had twice as many turnovers as Seton Hall (18-9), but did finish with a 42-35 edge in rebounds.
